FIELD TOOL No. 02 — SHOOTING TIMES
Legal light.
Half hour before sunrise to sunset — plus your state's exceptions.
Location is remembered on this device. County-centroid times — start rounds later, end rounds earlier, never the illegal side of the minute.
- Off water-inundated areas and water courses by 1:00 PM during regular duck season
- Noon close on Dave Donaldson Black River and George H. Dunklin Jr. Bayou Meto WMAs
- Last day of regular season and Youth / Active-Duty / Veteran hunts: to sunset — off the water by 6:30 PM
Public land may close earlier — check your WMA.
Morning baseline is standard — 30 minutes before sunrise. The close is the rule that catches people: off water-inundated areas and water courses by 1:00 PM during regular duck season, and by noon on Dave Donaldson Black River and George H. Dunklin Jr. Bayou Meto WMAs. On the last day of the regular season and during Youth / Active-Duty Military / Veteran hunts, hours run to sunset with a 6:30 PM off-water time.
Informational only. Shooting hours are set by your state's current regulations — verify before you load a gun.
